Actor Denies Anti-Vax Position After Lending His Voice To Disputed Pandemic Feature

The "Taken" star has lent his voice to a new documentary that challenges the safety of vaccines and praises ex- health official the political figure.

The Feature's Contentious Origins

Called "Plague of Corruption," the film is adapted from a bestselling book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for claims that the illness was linked to a bad strain of the flu vaccine.

The publication's co-author, the executive producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone media personality Alex Jones. He wrote online celebrating Neeson's participation in the film.

An Unequivocal Rebuttal

The team of Liam Neeson have provided a response strongly denying claims that he supports anti-immunization sentiments.

"Many understand that unethical practices may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that must not be confused with rejection of vaccines," the response reads. "He has never been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His considerable work with Unicef highlights his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

The statement added that the actor was not involved in crafting the film's narrative and that inquiries about its claims should be directed to the producers.

Major Claims In the Film

In the film, the script spoken by Neeson includes several controversial points:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "science has become dangerously politicised."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't adequately tested."
  • The film takes aim at pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it cites a report that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Controversy and Recent Disputes

It further cites a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the subject of a correction by the corporation for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, Kennedy called on the Centers for Disease Control to revise its official position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, despite a new report from the WHO reiterating no evidence has been found.

A Previous Record of Advocacy

Contrasting the film's narrative, Neeson has previously voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's voice stating, "This is not the end of our journey. It is the dawn of a new chapter."
