Battlefield 6 BR Mode Goes Live This Week as a F2P Game Mode

After months of speculation, the BR experience for Battlefield 6 is at last arriving. Last week's rumors claiming its release would coincide with the first season were spot-on. Players can jump into the action starting in just a day.

Launch Season Adding a Fresh Location, Style, and Weapons

In tandem with the battle royale addition, the new season is also kicking off. This brings a new map, a additional style, and new weapons. On top of that, this new sector is making its debut. A included preview will become available at release, offering fans a preview of what's to come.

Free-to-Play Structure Allows Redsec Open to Everyone

Maybe the biggest news is that the battle royale mode will be free-to-play. Much like popular offerings, you do not need to own the original Battlefield 6 to play. Some players have already tried pre-release builds of the experience. These playtests were run in a collaborative space, which the studio described as their most ambitious fan involvement project.

The intense thrill during encounters with opposing teams is unique in other last-man-standing mode. It seems life or death, and you really mind if you live or perish.
Despite being a skeptic earlier, I'm completely supportive of the BR mode now that I've experienced it.

Such early feedback from players have been overwhelmingly favorable. Naturally, the gameplay may have been adjusted over the past couple of months in terms of game balance and tempo. Still, initial indicators are promising that Redsec could emerge as a true competitor to established offerings. Many are wishing that the best guns from the original Battlefield 6 will carry over in the new mode.
