How these Broncos together with the 'play-dough' QB can halt that Chiefs' reign.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes live text for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the NFL season , following last week's talk regarding two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their perfect starts.

Striking in those games was the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it was good to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, to win the game 21-17.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four defenders but they might position two LBs in the interior then drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, we said on a program how Denver could be the current year's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

New TE Evan Engram has excelled significantly while recent running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love how the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to run first, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes and keeps you in positive down and distances.

This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to throw all over, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.

His assets include his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, and finding varied release points to make throws when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws over the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great composure under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it eats up time and makes the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the field downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games at times and it seems Payton appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. He can really develop him how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, that is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do versus the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team yet to win any game.

Since the NFL started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway in five outings, which is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the West.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
