Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the US has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
It said wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
