President Trump Welcomes Families of Attacked Military Personnel to White House

President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a Guard member killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Devastating Shooting

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

White House Invitation

The president said he’s discussed a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump told the press. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Mourners assembled over the weekend at a local school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that instructors desired. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to assist people.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Steps and Policy Adjustments

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The tragedy prompted the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to owners of travel documents.

Condition of Wolfe

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

Attorney general Bondi told the program that she also intended to speak to the family.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with excellence, according to the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had bravery,” the governor addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
