Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently following cancer treatment since 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
