Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
It is his initial championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from March of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has secured 21 championships at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.
His retrieving approach and recurring reactions on court had prompted commentators to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.
However the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an improved serving game.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a third set.
The opponent saved four early-game chances in a tight final set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
