On the eve of his sixth anniversary in charge, Mikel Arteta has admitted that his future at Arsenal is directly connected to winning major honors.

A Look Back: The Arteta Era

Arteta was appointed on December 20th, 2019 and promptly led the team to an cup win not long after. However, that initial silverware remains his lone major honor after taking over from Unai Emery.

Even with the availability issues and the intense pressure, Arteta is confident the club's “objectives and communication” are vastly different from when he began his reign.

He pointed to the squad's displays as evidence of progress. “Consider the performances, all the club records that were shattered... We still haven’t managed to do that [win trophies]. But that tells you the standard we operate at.”

He finished by saying, “That is a level that the Premier League has not seen before in the past. And we want to achieve greater objectives. And if we do that, I think we are on the right path to winning.”
